Not Your Average Fry

Take a tip from the growing number of restaurants offering French fries with creative seasonings and fun sauces and dips; just having a variety of spices and side sauces on hand can switch fries from Italian to Mexican to Asian in a snap. A report from MenuMine suggests the following fry enhancers:

Sauces/toppings: cheese, pizza sauce, mojo, béarnaise, tartar, Hoisin, caramelized onions, BBQ

Cheeses: cheddar, Parmesan, mozzarella, goat, smoked cheddar

Seasonings: garlic, paprika, Cajun

Fries are the perfect finger food for consumers; have extremely high profit potential, with their relatively inexpensive cost; and allow virtually endless creativity.

Metro Pizza ( www.metropizza.com) in Las Vegas offers Garlic Romano Fries and hot and spicy Nuclear Fries, both served with ranch dipping sauce for a tasty pre-meal treat.

Vinny’s Pizza and Pasta ( www.vinnyspiz zaandpasta.com) in Newport News, Virginia, offers guests pizza fries with sauce and mozzarella, as well as Texas fries with bacon, cheddar, mozzarella and jalapeños.

Crispy Garlic & Parmesan Fries are the No. 1-selling appetizer at Hurricane Grill and Wings ( www.hurricanewings.com), with multiple locations throughout Florida.
