For the last few years, I’ve been working for Domino’s Pizza as the manager of corporate operations, and my next step is to franchise. Recently, I was activated to go overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I really miss the industry and can’t wait to get back. I’m homesick without the industry and your magazine. Can you please send me some magazines? I don’t care whether they’re back issues or new editions—as long as I still get to see what’s happening in the industry.

I have been receiving PMQ’s Pizza Magazine for 10 years now. It has helped me greatly in improving my business with great ideas and has given me a huge wealth of information. I have used many of your advertisers’ services over the years also. The Think Tank is a great place to interact with other owners, trade ideas and just get along with other great people around the world. I have been on the Think Tank since day one; however, with the recent intrusion of pizza delivery drivers onboard now, it has been increasingly irritating. I’m sure that other people on the board will agree. They have ruined a good place to go when you’re having issues in this crazy business.

Update from Think Tank Talk, October 2008:
I would like to update all those who helped out with the magnet project. One of my regular customers has a son who is a Down syndrome child. Every week, Rick waits to get the magnet that is sent out with each order. Last fall, the idea of collecting magnets from other pizza places came up. The members here on the Think Tank were asked to send their magnets to Daddio’s Pizzeria so they could be passed on to Rick.
Magnets have come in from all over the United States and Canada, as well as from Australia and New Zealand. There are enough magnets to cover over 40 square feet, with the average magnet being 2” by 3½”; this translates into more than 800 magnets!
Several of you, in addition to sending your magnets, also sent kind notes and wishes to
Rick and his family, which is just overwhelming. Three paint companies even donated magnetic undercoat paint so the magnets can be displayed on Rick’s bedroom walls.
I have been touched by the participation in the magnet project to the point that it has changed my outlook on life. I often think that if I had been asked to send a magnet to a stranger across the country, I would likely have just dismissed the request. I hope I have learned to be a kinder person through your generosity.
